NFS between AIX Server - OpenVMS Client
Hello All,
Could someone please help us set up NFS between AIX and OpenVMS?
We have defined the AIX as Server, OpenVMS as Client. We have followed the manuals, but have never been able to access a DNFS1:[000000] on OpenVMS and see the data on the AIX system. We can see the free disk blocks, the label etc, but when we try to access the data we get a "Login invalid at remote node"!
Would someone be so kind to list all the steps involved to set up succesful data transfer? We must be leaving something out.
Thanks very much in advance,
Edwin R. van der Kaaij.

Re: NFS between AIX Server - OpenVMS Client
Not too sure about the AIX side, but I got similar problems on VMS to VMS NFS shares if the UID/GID components were missing from the client mount command.

Re: NFS between AIX Server - OpenVMS Client
Hello All,
For whoever is interested :o)
After trying lots of different qualifiers, enabling lots of tracing etc. it appears that the mount /noadf qualifier makes things work. See the following log:
TCPIP> dism/all
%TCPIP$DNFSDISMOUNT-S-DISMOUNTED, _DNFS1:[000000] dismounted
TCPIP> mount/host=""/noadf/path="/oracle/testfs"/user=someone dnfs1: testfs testfs
%TCPIP$DNFSMOUNT-S-MOUNTED, /oracle/testfs mounted on _DNFS1:[000000]
TCPIP> show mount/all/full
_DNFS1:[000000] mounted
MPTSLDN100:/oracle/testfs
Transport TCPIP-UDP Writing Enabled
Read/write size 8192/8192 Write conversion Enabled
RPC timeout 0 00:00:01.00 ADF usage NOUSE,NOUPDATE,NOCREATE
RPC retry limit 4 Fileids Unique
Attribute time 0 00:00:15.00 Server type UNIX
Directory time 0 00:00:30.00 Advisory Locking Disabled
Cache Validation MODIFY TIME Default user [SYSMGR,SOMEONE]
Superuser No Default UID,GID -2,-2
TCPIP> exit
LDNS18> dir dnfs1:[000000]
