NFS does not work properly on VMS 8.2.1/8.3
Hi,
From TCP/IP5.5 on the Itanium I64/VMS8.3 machine, I have been mounting via NFS DNFS1:[000000] on the Alpha AXP/VMS8.2.1 (TCP/IP5.5.
Problem Description
-------------------
1. The mount has worked OK.
%TCPIP$DNFSMOUNT-S-MOUNTED
2. On the Itanium machine
$set def DFNS2:[000000]
$dir
The Ita. machine displays the file names with extra $ signs at the beginning of them such as $VOLSET.SYS;1 or $$$SCRATCH.DIR.
$dir VOLSET.SYS
%DIRECT-W-NOFILES
But command dir is OK when
$dir $VOLSET.SYS
This issue causes my makefile does not work with these extra $ signs. Someone can help me to get rid of these extra $ signs or have suggestion to do
Someone can help me to get

Have your tried /STRUCT=5. For us lack of this was one cause of rogue $ in file names.
