Password Management
Our company's new security policy dictates there must be alpha and numeric characters in a users password. I am running OpenVMS v7.3-1, how can I modify the operating system to enforce alpha plus numeric passwords?

Re: Password Management
Joe,
Please try the Search function in the forum first.
It is not the best engine around, but with the 'more options' and selecting 'password' + openvms you will quickly find hints:

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=866372
Google is also a good tool for example try:
+openvms +password +alphanumeric +site:itrc.hp.com
Cheers,
Hein.

Re: Password Management
Joe,
The capacity for adding site-defined password checking policies is described in the section entitled "Screening New Passwords" in the OpenVMS Guide to System Security, available from HP's OpenVMS www site in both PDF and HTML.
As Hein noted, some sample routines which demonstrate the principles or the mechanism can be found by searching ITRC.
