PJL Tray selection with PDF emulation
I originally posted this in the printers forum, but was told that I should ask here as well.
I am printing PDF files in their native PDF format to a LaserJet 9050 printer. It has a PDF emulation mode that will render and print the document.
It seems to be ignoring any PJL commands that I send to it to select the media type or output bin.
The commands I am using are as follows
[esc]%-12345X@PCL COMMENT set tray
@PJL SET MEDIATYPE = COLOR
@PJL SET OUTPUTBIN = UPPER
[esc]%-12345X
The document still prints on the default paper to the default bin.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: PJL Tray selection with PDF emulation
Keith,
let me start with
WELCOME TO THE VMS FORUM!!
Now to your question.
Pretty little info to go on yet, please supply the output of
$ SHO QUE /FULL
For forum presentation and various access filter reasons, please output to a plain ASCII file with harmless extension (.TXT), and Attach.
I suspect you are using LPR printing over IP?
If so, the issue has been mentioned in various previous threads.
eg
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=786143
discusses the reasons why LPD does ruin your printer setup.
Again, please supply more info.
Proost.
Have one on me.
