Problems with my QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-241 drive, Please help

Hi guys. I have this HP compaq nx 9010 laptop for over 5 years and it has a QSI CDRW/DVD SBW-241 combo drive on it.

Everything was well until today. Now suddenly my CD drive dosen't exist anymore and I opened my computer and only shows
drive a/:
local disk c;

When i insert a cd or dvd..i can see the green light working but the laptop it could'n opened nothing happen's..

where it goes?? Can someone please help me with this. It would really be helpful if u people could help.

Same happened on my Compaq Notebook.. then the whole thing died, and i couldn't reinstall windows as the cd-drive wouldn't work. Also having no luck trying to get through to technical helpline in uk, so im stuffed! Hope you got yours working.
