SAN EVA3000 and MA8000
We plan to replacing existing 8 and 16 port Brocade switches with EMC's DS-4700 32 ports switch.
Should there be any file system issues with VMS 8.2 since due to non-hp firmware?
Thanks.

Re: SAN EVA3000 and MA8000
Shouldn't be a firmware issue but I would suggest making sure to use the latest fiber patch. VMS82A_FIBRE_SCSI-V0200 which is also in VMS82A_UPDATE-V0400
The thing to watch for is how you have the switches setup. If the switches are one big happy fabric then replacing shouldn't be an issue. If you are using Zones - make sure those are all double checked ahead of time.
If you have redundant paths then theoretically you could take down one path and migrate it. I really don't like making massive switch changes like this with systems being up. I like taking them to the >>> prompt and then verifying the data on the WWIDmgr sections.
I would also make sure that HP would support you using the EMC switches. Contact your local HP support rep and discuss the switches with them.
We currently use 32 port brocades connected to XP1024 and HP supports us end to end.
