Source Control System

a customer of mine is looking for a Source Control / Version Control System for VMS Software Development. Is there anything available in addition to the build-in capabilities of the operating system?

Re: Source Control System

Falk,

welcome to the OpenVMS ITRC forum.

There are the OpenVMS Layered Products included in DECset (like CMS and MMS).

There is also VDE, the OpenVMS Source Code Control System used by OpenVMS Engineering to maintain the sources of the OpenVMS Operating System. This tool is availabe on the OpenVMS Freeware CD #7

We are using the Telelogic Change Synergy software for all our UNIX and OpenVMS development. However, the Change Synergy server is running on UNIX and we communicate towards the OpenVMS system using NFS.

Re: Source Control System

Hi Falk,

please find attached an HTML file with links to Software Configuration Management Tools which are known to work with, or on, OpenVMS.

For a free open source option you might be interested in Superversion for OpenVMS.
