another perfect argument to do such thing by way of submitting a batch with /user=.
I would think you will find some weirdness with GROUP logical names as well. I expect those processes to use LNM$GROUP_000001, and not LNM$GROUP_000100

You're absolutely right in that we should change the way the apps are started (submitting the command proc from systartup, instead of executing it directly).
Unfortunately, you're wrong about the logical name tables. The processes have the correct group logical name table (LNM$GROUP_000100).
