SYSMAN & TCP/IP

Is there a way to talk to remote node through SYSMAN over TCP/IP ?

It seems to want to use DECnet all the time.

Jeff,

Not at this time. It's been discussed many times. I think TCP/IP security (or lack thereof!) is one issue.

If you have a compelling business need for SYSMAN over TCP/IP, please contact your local customer support centre to lodge a formal request to engineering.

Is this to do with network people not wanting
DECnet on their network? You could use DECnet
over IP which would satisfy SYSMAN and any
no-DECnet requirement of the networking types.

Yes DECNET over IP seems to work quite nicely. You need to enable the PWIP protocol within TCPIP services for this to work and it only takes a moment to do so.
