TCPIP and WINS

The NT/AD server guys will be shutting down a local WINS server and the new WINS servers will be located at our corporate location.

I can't for the life of me think of anything on our OpenVMS server that would register itself with WINS, can you?

Re: TCPIP and WINS

Are you running Advanced Server (Pathworks)?

That's the only way that I could think of them being involved.

Re: TCPIP and WINS

Other than SAMBA or PATHWORKS Server or some local software oddity, you won't find WINS involved with OpenVMS.

OpenVMS and most other similar systems use DNS/BIND. Not WINS.

Sorry for a late reply - been away.

Since you mention AD, are you doing LDAP authentication for PMDF, PMAS, or anything else?
