UK Unix Guru Required For Seminar

Good Morning All!!

I work for HPug (HP User Group - formerly DECUS) in the UK, and would like to put on a 'Unix For VMS Administrators' seminar.

Do you have skills in both Unix and VMS? Can you put together and then give a 1-day talk to around 25 people?

See what you mean, but HPug although independant is really a HP group, run by HP users, for HP users to the benefit of HP users.

As nobody makes any profit out of the seminars, I'd be rather disgruntled if people complained.

I mean, you don't see HP going round undermining the work of it's User Groups - do you?? ;)

Check out HPWorld 2005 for an example of how HP and it's user group (Interex) got along.

When (and where) would that session be. That may influence who is interested and/or available.

You may also want to indicate how anyone interested can best contact you. I would recommend against posting a direct Email addres, but to use a temporary address or some 'riddle' instead.

There is no definite timescales for the event, as it hasn't been scheduled yet.

Venue - well that's likely to be Manchester, Reading, Birmingham or London - but doesn't have to be.

Still travelling, but also working. In Walldorf (SAP) right now. Luxembourg over the weekend. If I has some time then this could indeed be a fun extra assignment.

I can't see why not Willem. The problem, as you can see, is getting someone with enough knowledge to give the seminar.

HPug can organise the venue, hardware, things like that, but it's up to real people to share their knowledge.
