VAX/VMS 6.2 heavy load with SNMP
My customer with vax/vms 6.2 and ucx 4.2.
recently, they found the system performance was so poor, like the system was hung.
the service SNMP was top process that using CPU,MEMORY. and we found the messages in the SNMP log file:
"ucx-w-snmp_procmsg, snmpin: Error in pro_snmp_msg, code 1202".

Re: VAX/VMS 6.2 heavy load with SNMP
Or you need a 4.2 patch to prevent the looping ...
Or someone is actively snmp-ing your node (e.g. with a grafical tools with a very short interval). The 1202 code means no such instance, which might indicate a bug. Is the message repeated all the time ? Otherwise it might be a 1-time message.

Re: VAX/VMS 6.2 heavy load with SNMP
yes, the code 1202 was at "ucx$snmp.log",
3 times in every version of log file.
3 times in every version of log file.
