Are there any drivers/etc. needed for this, and where would they be available at?
Also, any other special instructions?
I would rate myself a 5 out of 10 on VMS SYS Admin.
Thanks,
Matt

Re: Want to install DE500-XA on AlphaServer 1000 4/266 6.2-1H3
Thanks for the info, but:
There is a difference, that's for a 1000A, and I have a 1000. This link:
http://h18002.www1.hp.com/alphaserver/options/as1000ev4/as1000ev4_%20%20-de500-xa.html
shows this entry for VMS:
For VMS:
v6.2:
TIMA Kit: ALPLAN02_062 required. See most up-to-date patch information.
TIMA Kit: Boot Support: ALPBOOT02_062 required. See most up-to-date patch information.
Does that mean I need some file called "ALPLAN02_062", or "ALPBOOT02_062", and where would I find out if I have that or need it?
Thanks,
Matt

Re: Want to install DE500-XA on AlphaServer 1000 4/266 6.2-1H3
Very helpful, thanks!
BTW - I just decided to go with the DE500-AA instead of the DE500-XA, as it supports auto-negotiating, and is of a "later breed".

$product show history
Later patches include and supercede the earlier versions. So ALPBOOT12_062 is now the latest ALPBOOTxx_062 kit. Later versions of VMS also include the UPDATE kits which roll up patches.
$help product
will give you basic details on what the utility. One of the very nice things about VMS is the detailed documentation.
