wwidmgr on HP Integrity v HP Alpha
Hi,
We have just received an HP Integrity with OpenVMS that we intend to connect to our SAN. On our Alpha systems we had to set the SAN HBA adapters with the wwidmgr utility at console mode. How do we do this on the HP integrity platform?
Thanks
Andrew

Re: wwidmgr on HP Integrity v HP Alpha
Andrew,
there is no WWIDMGR for Itanium systems.
Please see the documentation in the chater 7.7 in the following manual:
Guidelines for OpenVMS Cluster Configurations
http://h71000.www7.hp.com/doc/82FINAL/6318/6318pro_012.html#booting_i64_h
You can configure the SAN boot pathes using
$$$ @SYS$MANAGER:BOOT_OPTIONS
when booted from the OpenVMS I64 Operating System DVD.

Re: wwidmgr on HP Integrity v HP Alpha
How does this handle the dump_dev setting? On alpha's we had to make sure the dump_dev was set using the wwidmgr utility.

Re: wwidmgr on HP Integrity v HP Alpha
Peter,
the @SYS$MANAGER:BOOT_OPTIONS.COM menue also lets you work on the Dump Device and Debug Device Options list.
Or use can use the following EFI command:
FSn:\EFI\VMS\VMS_SET DUMP_DEV device-name,...
Both is described in the HP OpenVMS System Manager's Manual, Volume 2: Tuning, Monitoring, and Complex Systems. Chapter 2 Managing Page, Swap, and Dump Files:
http://h71000.www7.hp.com/doc/82FINAL/aa-pv5nj-tk/aa-pv5nj-tk.HTMl
