AlphaServer Management Station AMS (SPM error) on Tru64 Unix

I have installed the latest firmware v7.2, installed Tru64 Unix V5.1B with patch kit 6 on the Alpha server DS10 management station.

I have also installed AMS V5.2.0 on the DS10 and # java -version
java version "1.4.2"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition
Fast VM (build 1.4.2-6, native threads, mixed mode, 01/09/2007-23:17)

When I connect to my DS10 management station via Internet Explorer I can get as far as the login screen.

I type my username and password but the SPM client does not login successfully and after 3 minutes it displays an SPM error. Please see attached file for the error. My username and password are correct.

I have tried to restart the processes as indicated by the SPM error window but no joy.

Can anyonr help me please?

Re: AlphaServer Management Station AMS (SPM error) on Tru64 Unix

Hi,

Are you sure you're using the right username/password ?

If I recall correctly, the credentials for AMS are taken from the host running AMS, in your case the DS10... Can you try logging in as root - assuming you haven't already...

Cheers,

To get into AMS, users must be in the 'amsuser' group as defined in the /etc/group file.
