C2 NIS Update Issues
I have a C2 Nis master running on 5.1B and a few Nis clients running on 4.0d. The clients can log in just fine. However, when they login there last login date shows as never all the time. Also, when they change their password from the Nis client, the master never gets updated. You can only change there password from the nis master. Is this a bug?

Re: C2 NIS Update Issues
Yes, it is a bug.
I am running C2 + NIS clients (4.0f, 5.1a, 5.1b) against 5.1A NIS master - it's OK and user can change password from NIS client.
But I had two problems with 5.1B NIS client.
a) It doesn't see NIS templates
b) sometimes it creates local prpasswd copy of NIS entry, with different passwd.
For details - search this forum for my name, couple of month ago.
Concidering Your issue, I suspect C2+NIS implementation in 5.1B is whorce than in earelier Trunix versions.
P.S.
Check up - on NIS master yppasswd daemon should be enadled & running.
