Create a display on Unix

I am new to programming. I want to create a display and tie buttons on the display to my scripts. Is there any free application I can use or how can I easily create a display with few buttons and when I press them, my scripts run.

I guess you want to write a program using motif language.

I have not thought about the language, I was just thinking of something fast and easy to learn.

use dtbuilder which is under /usr/dt/bin. For more on dtbuilder do a man on that.
