Re: Error when running setld -l for java142-4 on tru64
When you ftp the file to your system make sure that you are setting the file transfer mode to "BIN"
Also make sure that you are downloading the Java SDK kit and not the JRE.
Java142-4.tar
Then copy the file into your /tmp/java directory.
Next, change directory into /tmp/java and unpack the kit like this:
# tar -xvf java142-4.tar
blocksize = 256
x ./
x ./instctrl/
x ./instctrl/JAVA142.inv, 61541 bytes, 121 tape blocks
x ./instctrl/JAVA142.ctrl, 170 bytes, 1 tape blocks
x ./instctrl/JAV142.comp, 0 bytes, 0 tape blocks
x ./instctrl/JAVA142.scp, 1051 bytes, 3 tape blocks
x ./instctrl/JAVADEV142.inv, 7196 bytes, 15 tape blocks
x ./instctrl/JAVADEV142.ctrl, 183 bytes, 1 tape blocks
x ./instctrl/JAVADEV142.scp, 898 bytes, 2 tape blocks
x ./instctrl/JAVADOC142.inv, 116166 bytes, 227 tape blocks
x ./instctrl/JAVADOC142.ctrl, 171 bytes, 1 tape blocks
x ./instctrl/JAVADOC142.scp, 927 bytes, 2 tape blocks
x ./instctrl/JAV.image, 69 bytes, 1 tape blocks
x ./JAVA142, 37027840 bytes, 72320 tape blocks
x ./JAVADEV142, 15185920 bytes, 29660 tape blocks
x ./JAVADOC142, 24166400 bytes, 47200 tape blocks
x ./INSTCTRL, 204800 bytes, 400 tape blocks
x ./JAV.image, 69 bytes, 1 tape blocks
x ./copyright.html, 14930 bytes, 30 tape blocks
x ./license.html, 24047 bytes, 47 tape blocks
x ./release_notes.html, 160141 bytes, 313 tape blocks
x ./topwide.gif, 448 bytes, 1 tape blocks
x ./THIRDPARTYLICENSEREADME.txt, 10129 bytes, 20 tape blocks
Now you are ready to install the kit with this command:
# setld -l .
Select Option 3: to install the mandatory and all optional subsets...
It should go on with no problems.
Cheers,
Rick Retterer

Re: Error when running setld -l for java142-4 on tru64
We have done all the things you have mentioned.
We are getting the error when we choose the option 3 and confirm Yes.
The error that we get is 'gzip: stdin: corrupt input'
Thanks,
Annick

Re: Error when running setld -l for java142-4 on tru64
Yes we already checked. Unix checksum does not match the checksum on the website. We're thinking there might be a problem with the tru64 sdk java142-4 file available for download itself?
Thanks,
Annick

Re: Error when running setld -l for java142-4 on tru64
An additional info: we tried downloading the sdk tru64 java142-4 file 3 times and it gives the same error each time and each time checksum does not match. Also note that unmatched checksum is the same for the 3 downloads.
However, file size for download is correct.
Thanks,
Annick

Re: Error when running setld -l for java142-4 on tru64
Download SDK v 1.4.2-4 (FCS)
SDK v 1.4.2-4 for Tru64 UNIX V4.0F, V4.0G, V5.1A, and V5.1B
├В┬╗ US (FTP) java142-4.tar
├В┬╗ US (HTTP) java142-4.tar <<<====
├В┬╗ Europe (FTP) java142-4.tar
[cksum=179562943, bytes=76759040]
and it worked fine for me.
After download,
# cksum java142-4.tar
179562943 76759040 java142-4.tar

Re: Error when running setld -l for java142-4 on tru64
Can you please try to setld -l on that and see whether you get the error gzip corrupt input?
Are you working on HP Tru64 V5.1B?
Thanks,

Re: Error when running setld -l for java142-4 on tru64
You are installing the following mandatory subsets:
Java 1.4.2-4 Environment
You are installing the following optional subsets:
- Documentation Kit :
Java 1.4.2-4 Online Documentation
- Software Development :
Java 1.4.2-4 Development Environment
Estimated free diskspace(MB) in root:612.0 usr:109.8
Is this correct? (y/n): y
Checking file system space required to install selected subsets:
File system space checked OK.
3 subsets will be installed.

Re: Error when running setld -l for java142-4 on tru64
I don't know why it is not working on our side.
We are on the same platform as you.
Do have any idea of what going wrong?
Is there some way that you can send us the java142-4 for tru 64 v 5.1B?
I guess it is too big to send via email..
Thanks,
Annick

Re: Error when running setld -l for java142-4 on tru64
What is strange is that when we do a checksum on each of the files downloaded from different machines, the checksum gives us exactly the same figure for each one of them.

Then I changed the program to download the file (I used wget), and the file finally downloaded correctly.
