how can i bring the machine on internet


My system is alpha 4100
and os version : Digital Unix 4.0D
I want to surf internet
I have configured the
ip
and gateWay
but i don't know how to configure DNS

On Digital Unix V4.x (V4.0D no more supported), use "bindsetup"

have a look into the network admin guide.

Btw. the netscape version delivered with 4.0d will not properly work with current web pages. Be sure you have installed latest security patches if using direct connection.

Hi

I am using 5.x. i don't have 4.0D.
in 5.x /usr/bin/X11/netscape will open netscape. you can browse by configuring proxies
never give up
