HSZ22 diagnostic utility
Hello,
do you know is there some diagnostic tool which can be run on HSZ22 controller (RAID Array 3000), connected to Alpha ES40 (Tru64 v 5.1A)?
The purpose of tool need to be to run stress tests like forced reading/writing and similar?
Client has probelms with HSZ22 like lost of connection to disks, disks weren't visisble via SRM console and similar.
Now we fixed problem with cable exchange, but we also want to run some stress-tests.
Regs,
Danda

Re: HSZ22 diagnostic utility
You can use de filesystem exerciser fsx and disk exerciser diskx (see /usr/field/* )
Use /usr/field/diskx -h , to find command syntax. Make sure to use read-only testing if the data on there is needed.

Re: HSZ22 diagnostic utility
Danda,
I too have a problem.
I can see disk device on the HSZ22.
But when I try to make a virtual disk (RAID or JBOD) it fails.
Any ideas?
My email address is tony.mcelhill@edfenergy.com
Thanks.

Re: HSZ22 diagnostic utility
Tony - please open a thread of Your own, and for starting connect to the RA3000 using a serial cable and look inside it's controller event logs.
also - 'how' does it fail?
