Re: Install tru64
>>show dev
(shows the devices, disks, find the DVD/CD-drive)
It might include:
dqa0.0.0.15.0 DQA0 TOSHIBA CD-ROM XM-6302B 1017
then:
>>b dqa0
...and follow instructions

Re: Install tru64
Why would you (be told to) do this task when clueless about the task?
Seems like a fun thing to do?
Then go have fun! Google, Read, Try.
Serious business?
Get training and/or professional support!

Re: Install tru64
If you want help, then please work with us in providing some details. We like Tru64 applications to succeed, but you have to work with us!
We can not look over your shoulders, and we not mind readers (allthough we get pretty darn close at times ;-).
>> I trying install the SO in two disks.
I guess that with SO you mean "operating system" (os).
Typically the OS itself takes 1 disk.
A second drive could be for increased data space and sometimes (though rarely justified) for increase swap space.
Let's focus on installing the OS first no?
>> But before i did have four disks whith the SO tru64 and I pull them.
Why?
Anyway, dollars to donuts you only had 1 disk with Tru64, and the other 3 probably had data for that Tru64 install.
How did you know you had 4 disks?
Ok, you saw the containers, but what did the system think about them?
Outpur from a 'df' command or contents of /etc/fstab would be the least to get going. A listing of /etc/fdmns is needed if AdvFS was used.
>> Whem i push the four disks again , The same not going to recognize.
At what 'level'
Are you at firmware level with >>> prompt?
Issue 'show config' and/or 'show dev' as suggested. What gives?
>> How to for recognize these disks for my Server?
Nothing should be needed, but occasionally an >>> init command or powercycle helps to unwedge stuff.
Now....
What (Alpha) System? ES40? AS2100? GS1280?
What Storage arrangement? internal only? Adapters? SAN?
Weather? Raining? Sunny?
What OS version? 4.0G? 5.1A? 5.1B3?
Disk usage? AdfFS? UFS? Volume Manager?
