Dear All,

We have an account would like to use the password as it's username, but in 5.1b seems unable to do this, can I disable this security mechanism ? or what else can i do. Thanks.

Re: password issue with 5.1b

Hi,

why do you think it is not possible?
Have you tried to change the password after creating the user?
Just try repeating the password often enough. It should accept it after three times.

Re: password issue with 5.1b

If you have enhanced security enabled, there are some restrictions, you cannot use all lowercase passwords, and a password = username or password = groupname is not allowed (u_restric).

You may need to disable enhanced security. Use sysman secconfig.
Por que hacerlo dificil si es posible hacerlo facil? - Why do it the hard way, when you can do it the easy way?

With Enhanced Security you can just disable triviality checks for that user, you don't have to disable Enhanced Security completely. But, I think I should point out that it is almost never a good idea to have a account that has it's username as it's password.

It depends of course on how sensitive the stuff on that machine is. If it is only a stand alone play machine, it does not matter.
