Performance of DS10 Alphaserver with Tru64 installed
Could someone tell me
what is the performane of Alpha DS10
server compared to say lntel
based server with two 1GHz Xeon processors
with Solaris9 installed?

That performance will be close. Other details like the IO connectivity, memory quantity and memory interleaving may define the find results.
The DS10 comes with a Single 600Mhz or 466 Mhz processor.
For most cpu bound tasks it will be faster than a single Xeon 1Ghz, slower than two.
Just an educated guess...

In general I'd agree with the prev. post.
I just want to add that it all depends on what kind of load you will put on that system, what applications, etc.
Check the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC) site for numbers that you could compare:
