I got the following message:
vdump: Status at Thu Jun 8 15:22:07 2006
vdump: Dumped 36942525519 of 47890396160 bytes; 77.1% completed
vdump: Dumped 16173 of 36113 directories; 44.8% completed
vdump: Dumped 403500 of 722121 files; 55.9% completed
vdump: unable to write to device ; [5] I/O error
vdump: do you want to retry?
I have replaced the tape drive. Same problem.
I have tried with few cartridges. Same problem.
System info: TRU cluster 5.1B-3 (PK5), EVA4000, 2 X ES47, MSL5026S2 (robot where is the tape drive).
Does anyone know is there a problem with vdump (or I got the bad tape drive from HP)?
Solved! Go to Solution.

Re: SDLT320 I/O error in TRU Cluster
In attached file are outputs of "hwmgr -get attribute" for these devices, and you can see firmware revision.
No, I have not tried LTT diagnostics.
Will download that.

Re: SDLT320 I/O error in TRU Cluster
With new cartridges everything work fine.
Mark, LTT was a good idea. Thanks.
