Tru64 Mouse Wheel Support?
Does anybody know of a way to enable the usage of the mouse wheel under Tru64 V5.1B-4.
Which component is responsible for the mouse and subsequently the mouse wheel.
Has anybody had experience with adding mouse wheel support to Tru64, i.e. underlying support, third party add-on etc..

Re: Tru64 Mouse Wheel Support?
Chris,
Currently there isn't any support for the wheel mouse built into CDE on Tru64 Unix.
However, I have noticed that I can use my wheel mouse in the latest versions of the Netscape/Firefox browsers on Tru64 Unix which I think is pretty cool.
I'm not aware of anyone adding wheel mouse support into CDE environment at this point.
Cheers,
Rick

Re: Tru64 Mouse Wheel Support?
Rick, this is good news for me. I noted that with a x-term that there wheel movements where translated in to bells and this lead me to believe that there must be some form of support in the ps2 driver for this.
We are not actually looking for CDE wheel support. What we are trying to find out is how our applications can use the wheel movement, i.e. are there are any system call to do this, does the X-Server support the wheel and if so what x call can we use to get the movement data.
I'm pulling the last firefox kit and sources now, many thanks for this tip.

Re: Tru64 Mouse Wheel Support?
Well it turns out that there is no local Tru64 mouse support. We started an enquiry for a custom change but our management stopped this due to impact schedules.
