I'm sorting out the licenses I want to
keep on the 5 boxes I'm going to keep.
I've searched the hp web site and google

the others are on an 8200/4100 Cluster
QA-5GA8A-H8 SW LPOS PKG U/A DOC/CDRM
QL-MT5AG-AA DEV TOOLKIT U/A TRAD LIC
QL-2A1AE-AA Vol Shadow V/A License
QL-OEGAE-AA ADV FIL SYS U/A TRAD LIC

Re: Tru64 Options what do the do ?
What do you mean when you say those are "on" your servers. The QA-xxxxx-xx and QB-xxxxx-xx aren't part numbers for S/W licenses. I'm not 100% sure but I believe the first one is for the configuration utility for a StorageWorks RAIDArray. It usually came on a separate floppy. The second part is for the CD Distribution Kit for Tru64 Unix. That is NOT the same as the license to use Unix.
The last three are licenses.
QL-MT5AG-AA Unix Alpha Developer's Toolkit
QL-2A1AE-AA OpenVMS Alpha Volume Shadowing
QL-OEGAE-AA Unix Alpha Advanced File System
Utilities
The last three are licenses.

I am being charged for these items. They
are on our Support Account that is broken
up into three sections for each server or
group of servers. The sections are HW Support, Software Support, and the last Software Update Service.

Good, it seems they only went with the
8200 and it is being scrapped. And the
QA-5GA8A-H8 is $260 a month !
>That is NOT the same as the license to use >Unix.
My miss understanding, with 68 pages of
items my mind gets mushy at times.
>The last three are licenses.
>QL-MT5AG-AA Unix Alpha Developer's Toolkit
>QL-2A1AE-AA OpenVMS Alpha Volume Shadowing
Interesting that this is a line item for
a server running Tru64 :) Wonder if it is
a typo and there is an equiv p/n for Tru64.
>QL-OEGAE-AA Unix Alpha Advanced File System
Utilities
Again thanks, no one in the past 7 years
until now has ever looked at what was
being charged for.

Re: Tru64 Options what do the do ?
On the OpenVMS Volume Shadowing License...
Definitely not a Unix product. The equivalent product for Tru64 Unix is known as Logical Storage Manager or LSM.
