Correct way of patching HP ESXi installations

Hi all,

I'm wondering how one would go around patching official HP based ESXi installations.

Normally I would just install from the HP ESXi media (for example, 5.5) and then use VUM to install all patches. Then when I would like to go to 5.5 Update 1 I would import the HP ESXi 5.5 Update 1 media to VUM, update with it and then install all patches released after 5.5 Update 1 as normal with VUM.

Rinse, Repeat for 5.5 Update 2 etc.

Would this be the correct way?

Bgrds,

FOG

Hello,

you could do it in your way...

Or - you can boot latest update form HP and update system,

or - you can use VUM and attach latest drivers

or - you can use vibsdepot.hp.com and integrate it into VUM

all options are working well.
