HPE ML30 Gen 9 - B140i - VMware 6 slow disk performance
Hello all,
Need some advise...
I recently bought a new server ProLiant ML30 Gen 9 with 4 HPE 1TB hot-swap disks in the disk cage connecting to the B140i. RAID 10.
I have used Intelligent Provisioning to install VMware 6.5 (HPE custom image), unfortunately, the disk performance is very poor - with only 2 guests (Windows 2012R2 and Windows 10 Pro). I have tried Hyper V, and seems it is quite a bit faster, but I would really prefer VMware.
I have tried using the newer disk driver from HPE/VMware, but can't really see the improvement...
Any advise please? I am considering adding a P440 with 4G cache and the battery, does it really help?
Thank you very much.

Re: HPE ML30 Gen 9 - B140i - VMware 6 slow disk performance
I added the P440 4G and on ESXi the performance is still slow.. I have tried different versions (5.5, 6.0, 6.7) and the older ones seem to perform better but still not on par with what is advertised..
