Simplivity and SQL Databases

This is actually a simplivity question but I do not see a forum for simplivity.

I was told by a simplivity technician that sql server databases do not compress on simplivity storage. Is this true?

Re: Simplivity and SQL Databases

Hi,

This has nothing to do with Simplivity as such but with the data inside the database... Most of the time (but like I said it depends of the data...) data in databases are not ideal (just like video's) for deduplication and/or compression...

This is the same with 3PAR dedup and compression and all other storage platforms... It's all about the data...

Kr,

Bart
