VMware image for hp bl 685c G7
Hi,
I need to install vmware 6.7 version on g7 blade system. Have problems with network and vlan-s. When i try with windows and shared uplink sets on flex everything works. When i install esxi image from vmware site there is no network at all. I have attached adapters but no network. Tried installing custom hp image and adding drivers to image with vmware auto deploy tool. When it comes to installing part there is error there are not network devices attached or there is problem with drivers. Only version that is coming through is vmware clean iso. Maybe someone have custom image that i can try or another solution?
Thank you in advance

Re: VMware image for hp bl 685c G7
Hello @Sanja1
BL685 G7 is not support ESXi 6.7.
You can check the to find the VMware Compatibility Guide support version: ESXi 5.5 - 6.0
Or
HPE website

Re: VMware image for hp bl 685c G7
Hi
The custom images are linked to a perticular SPP
http://vibsdepot.hpe.com/mapping/SPP-HPE_Custom-Image-vibsdepot-mapping-pre-Gen9.pdf lists the images supported with the G7 balde (see G7.1Post Production)
Have you installed the G7.1 SPP before trying the image?

Re: VMware image for hp bl 685c G7
Hello Sanja1
Thank you for the response and update.
VMware ESXi installs need a Network adapter isntalled on the hardware to install and the error represents this missing physically or the image you selected not having driver for the same.
HPE images contain all HPE-VMware supported drivers/ tools for quick installation.
You can see the content of the HPE image on VMware site download page> Read more section for details on components/ drivers embeded.
Kindly share link for the image you downloaded.
And name of the network adapter you have installed on the host/ should be visible in BIOS, if you want to check manually.

Re: VMware image for hp bl 685c G7
Hello @Sanja1
I am not working for 3par, but in my experience, you need to contact HPE and log a 3par support case.
Then they will help check the compatibility between the card and 3par OS.

You're best checking SPOCK, this will list the supported drivers and firmware as well as the supported NICs
