I would like to install vmware and it's licences on win 2008 64 bit.

Could you give me links to user guides or steps on how to install it

What VMWARE product are you talking about?
You can download a copy of VMWARE server form the VMWARE website. You can also get a free license there. But you do need to create an account and register.

I am talking about vmware esx 4.1 ..

is vsphere a part of esx or a different package..

and where can i download a temp version

and a document which tell me how to install it

vSphere is an 'umbrella' name and VMware ESX is part of the product set. It is a bare-metal hypervisor and cannot be installed on top of Windows or Linux OS.

ESX/ESXi is not a host-based hypervisor, it is bare metal. I think you are looking for VMware Server, it is totally free. It has two versions, for Linux and for Windows. You can say in some way that VMware Server is an intermediate step between Vmware Workstation and Vsphere.
