Hi, I have a older Dl380 gen8 server for tesing, not hcl compatible. I did install one array on the P420i for booting und installed vSphere 6.x 7.x and 8u1, it does boot, it is working. After that I created a new Array (B) with 6 x 900GB disk with Raid5, does not finish boot anymore. After creating this new Array the esxi 8u1 (or7.x) does stop at the end at storage-path-claim. When I delete the Array B it is booting again as normal! I did not found something for that hang... I think many of us have a older server hardware for testing with the same problem..
Thanks for your help!
Best regards
werner

SolutionIn Smart storage administrator you will have an option Set Bootable Logical Drive/Volume. Select the appropriate voluem where you want the server to boot from. We however do not recommend dual operating system installation.
If you feel this was helpful please click the KUDOS! Thumbs below!
