700MB CD-RW's

I have OEM DirectCD 2.5d. I've been using it with no problem for over a year with 650MB CD-RW's. I recently purchased 700MB CD-RW's and DirectCD won't format them. It get's about 1/2 way thru and just quits with no error or notice and the CD is unusable. Does anyone know if this is a limitation of DirectCD? Is there an upgrade I can download or purchase? Is there alternate software I can download or purchase?

Hi there.
Mostly it is the burner. Tried to get another software like Nero or so ? If not, do it.
If the other software fails as well, it is your burner.

Re: 700MB CD-RW's

I have used the 700MB CD-R's for burning music with no problem. But I do that with MusicMatch. That's why I suspect a problem with either DirectCD or the CD's themselves. But if it's the CD's, the whole batch must be bad. I've tried several of them. I will look for Nero.

Thanks

Re: 700MB CD-RW's

The problem is not hardware related although people do assume this, the problem is with Direct CD. I would try and update Direct CD from www.roxio.com or you could try, like suggested, to get Nero.
