can't read burned CD in CD-ROM drive w/ RW 7200i

I am using a CD-Writer Plus 7200i with Easy CD Creator 4.

I'm sure everyone here can think of several reasons why I can't read a CD I burned in the CD-ROM drive.
It reads it fine in the CD-Writer. After the CD is burned there are no indications of any errors whatsoever. I am using the latest firmware revision, 3.01.

The CD -ROM drive is new enough that it can normally read any burned CD. It can read CDs I burned with the 7200i in the past but any recently burned CDs it cannot. I specifically checked the close the CD option so it should close the CD and still the drive cannot read them.

I think the problem could be with the software I'm using to burn, but I really have no idea

you may have checked this, but are you sure that the disc is closed so that it can be read on non-writable CD's? that's the only thing that jumps to mind right now.

Have you switched media recently? I went from one brand to another and now my cdrom won't read cdrw's. Something to think about.

I was having similar problems recenty but with a different drive. I coastered 2 CD-R's trying to copy from a CR-RW in my reader directly to a CD-R in my writer. After both of those failed I copied the contents of the CD-RW using the reader to my hard drive, then burned to a CD-R. The CD read fine in the writer but was giving me blue screen's when I tried to read it from the normal reader. Coaster number three.

The only thing that seemed to work was using the writer to copy my CD-RW disk to my hard drive first, then copying from my hard drive to a CD-R disk. The information at this link seemed to help:

Question for you, is the CD-ROM in the same machine? If not is the CD a CD-R or CD-RW. If CD-RW try installing the Adaptec EZ CD Creater UDF Reader. Also make sure the disk is closed if it is a CD-R. Hope this helps.
