CD-Writer 9500: is being used by ???????????
Hello.
Using HP CD-Writer 9500 at a Vectra VE on Windows NT 4.0.
I'm using MyCD v2.5
When trying to duplicate a CD, I get this error message:
CD-Writer device is being used by ?????????????????????? [yes, it's '??????']
But nobody else is using the CD writer.
I restarted my machine, but nothing changes.
Any sugestion? Thanks.

Re: CD-Writer 9500: is being used by ???????????
Now, it allows me to record, but after it, I get this error message:
Sense:05 ASC:2C ASCQ:00 (Command:55)
--------------------------------------------------
HP CD-Writer+ 9500 (F:) ATAPI (1.0e) (8x)
Mitsumi CD-ROM FX4820T!B (E:) ATAPI (F01M) (10x)
PX.DLL - 1.1.0.297
PXMAS.DLL - 1.5.0.94
PXWAVE.DLL - 1.2.0.75
OLEAUT32.DLL - 2.40.4514.1
MSVBVM60.DLL - 6.0.88.77
MSCOMCTL.OCX - 6.0.88.62
MSCOMCT2.OCX - 6.0.88.4
PXHelper.SYS - 2.2.27.1
And if I record a second CD, I get this another one:
Buffer Underrun - Sense:03 ASC:0C ASCQ:09 (Command:2A)
--------------------------------------------------
HP CD-Writer+ 9500 (F:) ATAPI (1.0e) (8x)
Mitsumi CD-ROM FX4820T!B (E:) ATAPI (F01M) (10x)

MSVBVM60.DLL - 6.0.88.77
MSCOMCTL.OCX - 6.0.88.62
MSCOMCT2.OCX - 6.0.88.4
PXHelper.SYS - 2.2.27.1
Any experience?
By the way, I've got SP6 and I'm not able to find cd-writer 9500 drivers at www.hp.com.

+ I do not limit the maximum writing speed
+ I close all the background programs
+ My OS: Windows NT 4.0 + SP6 in Spanish
+ My Software: HP RecordNow 3.5 - 350B20b (HCD)

Re: CD-Writer 9500: is being used by ???????????
If you really want to perform some basic troubleshooting here, lets first try to burn a disk at the slowest speed possible.
If this works with no errors, then you know that the hardware/drivers are good and that your problem is somehow speed related. This could be caused by either the media that you are burning onto, or the drive itself. (Underpowered laser???)
Next increase your speed a notch each time that you burn a new disk, And see where you start having problems.
If the burn does not work at the slowest speed. It's probably hardware. Return it for a new one.
