I'm just looking for Double Layer DVDs RW discs (media).

maybe its on the market, but i never saw a DVD RW dual layer medium.

What I really need is DVD -RW Double Layer, but they don't have in the market.
I think, DVD -RW Double Layer doesn't exist.

Dual layer discs are the ones where both sides of the discs can be used to store data, hence doubling its capacity.

I'm looking for a double-layer DVD-RW media and cannot find using google.

Here is what i found, you may have seen this already

Dual layer
A dual-layer DVD+RW specification was approved in March 2006 with a
capacity of 8.5 GB. However, manufacturing support for rewritable dual-layer
discs did not materialize due to costs and expected competition from newer
formats like BluRay and HD DVD, which boasted up to 25 GB on a single layer.

Looks like JVC company was in line to release the DVD RW DL as per -

Also, somebody did try to check with JVC about these media release

Looks like its not manufactured yet and you may have to wait.

Hi chris,

Is there any particular reason why you are looking out for double-layer
DVD-RW only?

Looks like double-layer DVD-RW is facing a lot of competetion from BluRay
and HD DVD. Eventually it may not get manufactured at all.

Why dont you consider switching over to some other advanced format.

It is now 2011.  DVD R's & RW's with double layer exist allowing add'l room for pix/vids with 8.5GB's.  I have been on HP and other sites searching just Please Find Out if my Pavillion dv6-1352dx is capable of writing DL discs...???  

I found out on my own that altho I have an optical drive, I can't play or burn to Blue-Rays.  Why is it so hard to find this information out...... Not listed in Manuals, on drive properties, nor which notebook, pcs, etc these discs will work on.  Suggestion: HP update their product descriptions to inclu info such as.  Even better, under this post as the link to find out what's compatible doesn't work.  Please if anyone knows this info without me having to buy some & try, (which might not work), I'd great appreciate it.
