HP cd-writer cd24 error

I went to install the cd writer software and a message came up saying that there was a conflict with an Adobe UDF Reader and that it would have to be uninstalled before I proceeded. It uninstalled and made me reboot in the middle of the install. But now when try to run the install, it comes up with the following message "Developer Error Invalid InstallLevel in Main()" and does not let me proceed. Any ideas? Thank you.

Re: HP cd-writer cd24 error

Hi Thomas

Try to uninstall the software by the registry key :
Select Start , Run , type REGEDIT and click OK button .
Click in plus signal (+) in H_Key_Local_Machine , plus signal in Software and verify if you find a HP or Hewlett-Packard folder and delete (be warned : if you have others HP Products , it may be a good idea to make a backup Registry. To do this , select File , Export registry File . Give any name and save it in My Documents . If you have any problem when restart windows , select File , Import Registry File , locate the file that you've saved and let it go.) If you see a Adobe folder , can delete it too . After this , restart your machine and try to install again.

Best Regards

...or you could update msicu.exe, from Microsoft.com.
