HP DVD Writer 200i and DLA

I have installed all the latest updates for the 200i in Windows XP. HP DLA (drive letter access) is supposed to allow writing direct to the drive using Windows Explorer using a DVD+R or DVD+RW. But the information given in the latest HP DVD Writer instructions does not match with what I see on my computer. ie: no format capability and no DLA listed on the drive property page. DLA seems to work using a CD-R and Record Now works as advertized with DVD+RW. Its just that the DLA does not work with DVDs. I haven't found anyway to reinstal DLA except partially from the control panel. A complete reinstall would require XP disks which HP did not provide with my Pavilon computer that came with XP and Writer installed. Wish there was a knowlegable HP technican to talk to but that seems near impossible. Perhaps I will have to box up the machine and return it.
