hpdvd writer 840b

have a hp media center pc m 7367c
have not been able to write cd for months works with dvd but not cd staes cd are not good yet cd work in all other dvd writers am using an external hp dvd writer 640 c which picks up all the cds poor dvd writers should have never been sent out knowing they had problems
