My new computer came with lightscribe. I used the free (Verbatim) CD-R that came with it and I burned my songs and title on it. worked great. Problem is I went out and bought new CD-Rs by Memorex, which say lightscribe on them. When I try to burn the title, etc. on with lightwcribe it spits the CD out saying it doesn't recognize it as lightscribe? Any suggestions? I've tried updates and support from Surething, which was joke. Help!1

Re: lightscribe cd-r
HI Ann,
it would help if we knew which model of lightscribe you have.
Here is some general information from HP:

Re: lightscribe cd-r
I have no idea which version I have but I've installed the update and it still would not work. So I started randomly pulling new CD-Rs out and trying each one. Some will work and others will not. They are all from the same package. Not sure why it is like that, but i think I'm on the right track. I am assuming that the technology just isn't recognizing each one the same way.??

Solution
HI Ann,
Sounds like that brand is not a good match for your burner.
Maybe you should stick with the Verbatim. At least you know that one works. Lightscribe is very touchy so you have to have the right CD's for it to work.
I would stick with whatever brand HP recommends.
see:

Points?
Points are a way of saying thank you to the person that has helped you with your problem.
Only the question author can assign points to a given response. You will see a dropdown menu of points next to the reply (you must be logged in to see the menu). Select the point value and then click the "submit points" button.
Note that you can rate multiple replies and submit them at one time. That way you can assign more than ten points to any one user for their reply.
