Aruba AP-303 Configuration: Understanding the ‘shutdown’ Command

Hello,

I am currently configuring an Aruba AP-303 and I have a question about a specific command in the configuration. Here is the part of the configuration I am referring to:

wired-port-profile default_wired_port_profile
switchport-mode trunk
allowed-vlan all
native-vlan 1
shutdown
access-rule-name default_wired_port_profile
speed auto
duplex full
no poe
type employee
captive-portal disable
no dot1x

My question is about the shutdown command. Could you please explain what this command does in this context? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
