Boot menu password lost 4510G 24 port switch

Hello everyone.
Recently I've purchased a second hand 3Com 4510G 24 port switch.
I can connect it via the serial port and when i try to reach the boot menu (in order to reset the switch to factory settings) it asks me for a boot menu password. I don't have this password and the previous owner doesn't have this information either.
I have reached out to HPE support (Aruba Networks) and had a conversation with one of their employees about it. Unfortunately they can't or wont help me because I dont have a proof of purchase. The case was then closed by them and i'm left with nothing.
Is there any other way that i can get this boot menu password? The switch currently works, sort of, as an unmanaged switch although not all ports seem to be active.
However i would like to use it to the full potential.
