Query: HPE SN2010 MLAG question

I'm setting  a new dCHI environment with 2 HPE SN2010s that are connected together with a 40Gb MLAG ISL.  I  need to connect to it a non MLAG enabled core. I assume I just need to create a standard LAG correct? Was curious what happens if I create an MLAG to a non-MLAG switch - I assume it just won't come online?
