Dear colleagues,
I'm interesterd in forwarding traffic from any host in subnet 10.0.0.0/24 .1 (VLAN 100) to a host 10.0.1.2 in subnet 10.0.1.0/24 .1 (VLAN 101) with changing the sender IP address to my L3 core switch JL386A (1920s) IP address 10.0.1.1.
So here it is, step-by-step:
1. Any host from the subnet 10.0.1.0/24 sends traffic to 10.0.0.2 in VLAN 100;
2. My L3 core switch JL386A accepts it on the VLAN 100 interfaces with address 10.0.0.1 (because it's the 10.0.0.0/24 default GW);
3. JL386A changes the sender address to 10.0.1.1 and sends the traffic to host 10.0.1.2 in VLAN 101 (because JL386A is also the default GW of the 10.0.1.0/24 subnet).
Is this possible and do i call it right as PAT?
With respect,
Alex Wolf.
