Need to locate database

I have inherited an ALM system and have access to these servers:

• Repository server
• 2 application servers

How do I find where the database is?  This runs on Windows and I'm a Linux person.  I am supposed to have admin on the servers and also admin in the application.  I'm tired of walking up and down directory trees trying to find something.
