OfficeConnect Switch 1920S 8G JL380A Loop Protection not working?
Hi all,
I'm encountering an issue with loop protection on my HPE 1920S 8G JL380A, firmware:PD.02.14 . The loop protection feature is accessible and configured via the web GUI, but I noticed two concerning behaviors:
Config File Discrepancy:
* The loop protection settings do not appear in the switch’s configuration file.
* Undetected Loop Incident:
Recently, a physical loop occurred (due to a misconnected cable), but the switch failed to detect or block it, causing a broadcast storm. This suggests the feature isn’t functioning as expected.
Why might loop protection settings be missing from the config file despite GUI configuration? Is this a known behavior?
Could this explain why the loop went undetected? Are there hidden dependencies (e.g., requiring STP/RSTP)?
How can I verify loop protection is actively enforced ?
Are there firmware bugs affecting loop protection in PD.02.14?Kind regards,
JP
