ThinPro OS by HP -- a vendor-specific linux distro that you never heard of
HP has a linux distro called "ThinPro OS" -- it looks like it is a minimal Debian-based distro meant for minimally-specced machines which connect to a server for all computationally-heavy lifting.
It's pretty exciting to see a major OEM roll it's own distro. HP also makes it's business-class computers available for purchase with FreeDOS instead of Windows at a substantial savings.
I know Thinkpad fanboys think Lenovo is the bee's knees, but it looks like HP is much more committed to Linux.
Desktop Linux is becoming more and more of a real thing, and it is really exciting.
