Identifying IP address of attached device?
I'm using a Perl script using SNMP to access the configuration of the 100 or so switches across a WAN. Some of the switches are in very small rooms in locations very few people go near. The switch ports are connected to patch-panels which are connected to wall/floor ports throughout the building. Some switches are connected to other switches via fibre - and so on. The sites are connected via MPLS routers supplied and managed by a third party - so I do NOT have access to them. I'm trying to identify what is connected to each switch port. I'm currently using CDP to identify switches / routers and will shortly look to move to LLDP. However I need guidance as to how to obtain information about printers, PCs and servers are attached.
The information I'd really like is IP address, MAC and make/model - but do recognize that I need to look at what is feasible.
PCs and servers are all HP/Compaq (e.g. nc2400 laptop). Printers are mainly HP.
I'm using "HP Web Jet Admin" to trawl for printers and it is finding a lot - including the odd non-HP printer. But, while it gives me the IP address it doesn't show where it is connected. It should give the printers' MAC addresses which I may then be able to track back.
So - what is it I can tell using SNMP?

I am still using this one:
Managed Switch Port Mapping Tool from
PCM does not support it
