PCM+ shows device status "good" but "agent unreachable"

Hello,

 

I have a problem with PCM+.

All managed switches are reachable and the device status is "good" but there is a green questionmark next to the device ip address which indicates "agent unreachable".

 

What can be the reson for this?

This status indicates that the PCM Server has lost connectivity to the PCM Agent that is managing the devices. 

The current status of green circle, white question mark indicates that the PCM is not able to obtain the current status for the devices from the related agent.  A couple of things to look at:

 

If you restart the PCM Client do the devices remain in this same state? (it might be a client refresh issue)

 

Is the PCM Agent running?  Check that the "HP ProCurve Network Manager Agent" service is started and running.

 

If the status of the devices remains the same after a restart of the client, and the agent service is currently running, they might be an error condition that occured on the PCM Agent.   You could then try stopping and restarting the PCM Agent service to get it functioning again.

I have a similar issue and have tried restarting the HP Procurve Network Manager Agent but nothing changes. Everything else seems to be alright. Any ideas?

The customer where this problem occured did a restart of the whole server but the situation is still the same. All services are running.

 

What can I do and what can be the reason?
