Altiris client on linux disconnects
I have a lot of blade servers deployed with rdp, and after a couple of hours the servers are displayed as disconnected in the rdp client.
If I try to deploy jobs to the servers they don't start running the job, they just wait. If I then log on to one of the servers it reconnects to the rdp server and an icon of a person is shown, and the server stats running the jobs.
All the servers run redhat enterprise 4 and they are all installed through rdp.
Can I tweak how often the client should reconnect, or is there something I can do to test whats wrong ?

Re: Altiris client on linux disconnects
I'm not sure what version of RDP you have but this seems to be an old issue that I beleive was fixed with newer versions of RDP.
Create a custom config:
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/rdp/knowledgebase/00000142.html
and edit
Edit the [Transport] section to set UseMcast=false and TCPAddr=â RDP server IP Addressâ , then do a â service adlagent restartâ
See that fixes the problem.
** You know to use a tool that knows how to edit Linux/Unix files and notepade is not one of them. I only note this for others who may read this solution.

Re: Altiris client on linux disconnects
I am running the newest rdp, and the options you mention is already configured.
Can I enable debug somewhere to get clues to whats wrong ?
